Last week I was invited along to  a fascinating night of poetry, whisky, and fine Scottish dining to celebrate Burns Night (25 January) at Norwich City Football Club. I joined in to celebrate the birthday of Scotland’s most famous national poet, Robert Burns.

While I was there, I was fortunate to meet someone who has been a constant source of inspiration during my career, the English cook and broadcaster Delia Smith. I was so pleased to be able to spend time in Delia’s company, taking advice from her.
